This Week

I am sorry I have not been on the blog much this week. It has been a difficult one. Our beautiful Egyptian-looking cat, Merry, was killed by a car early in the week and that pretty much did in any motivation for posting. He was a lovely sweet cat that was unlike any other animal we have ever had. He let the little ones manhandle him and slept on Elizabeth's bed curled right above her head. Our other cat, Pip, is doing OK, but I feel for him. They were good buddies. It is amazing what an animal will do to your heart. I could not stop crying the day it happened. It was hard to believe and harder to see. We buried him in the backyard. Somehow this blog post misses exactly what he was to our family--a quirky, funny, beautiful sweet kitty.

Goodbye Merry. You will be missed.

I'm sorry you lost your kitty. I understand as we have also lost many animals.

I'm so sorry about your kitty.

I have never experienced that type of pet loss, but I can only imagine how tragic it must have been for your family.

I am soo sorry for your family's loss! Especially for the children. It is very sad indeed to lose a beloved pet. I never got to meet Merry, but I remember Pippin as an adorable, playful kitten.

We lost a good cat early in our marriage. We still speak about him with fondness. Our sympathies to you.

It's easy for us to underestimate the power of companionship until we lose something so sweet, and so simple, and so honest as the companionship of a family pet. I'm sorry for your loss. {{{hugs}}}

I am so sad to hear about your loss. I know how much a part of the family a pet can be, so much more than just an animal. I will keep you all in my prayers, especially for that little missed spot on your daughter's bed, I can only imagine how long it will take for her to heal. Many hugs and prayers!!!

Thank you for visiting my blog!

I love Jane Eyre, this was my 2nd reading of it.

I've also read Persuasion by Austen and enjoyed it...I tried to read Pride and Prejudice...but I gave up...I know I will read it, but at the time I wasn't in the mood and it was very wordy. I love the movies of it though.

A friend told me about the Amelia Peabody books, I too love her spirit and sense of humor!
