DISTURBING!

WHAT is the publishing world - supposedly "Christian" publishing world - ?! - thinking here? Pyromaniac, as honestly as ever, shares this utterly absurd story with us. He was so frustrated with the utter inanity of it all, and I can completely see why. I cannot comprehend what the "Christian" world is coming to when God's word is so terribly distorted and perverted. How can the publishers do such things to God's word? How can everyone entirely unhinge when the Koran is even remotely tampered with, yet God's holy word is treated in such a way? How can God hold back His contempt with man is what I want to know. How long, oh Lord, how long?

I was at a bookstore the next day, and saw one. I've also seen the one called Revolve, directed at girls, which has God's word interspersed with something that resembles Cosmopolitan.

I don't think we need to decimate God's word in order to make it "relevant."

I don't think it will be long before the Lord does something. I hope it is soon. It is distressing to see His word torn apart that way. Why, of why, do people not believe in the sufficiency of Scripture? Why do they think they have to make it relevant in order change people? God's word is relevant and powerful.

The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to diving soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart--Hebrews 4:12

I wouldn't believe this was true, if it weren't coming from such reliable sources.

It makes me sad and worried....but then I remind myself that...

This is no surprise to God.

He is in control.

And then I continue on my way....trusting and obeying....

Unfortunately, I am not surprised. I am, however, saddened. It is filth and God will not stand for it. It is just all in His sovereign time. It does and should remind me that we have been given the responsibility to train up our children so that they are strong in the Word of God, so that they will know filth like this when they see it and not be easily swayed. This problem is going to do nothing but get worse and it should be a call for us to be ready and on alert with our hearts full of his truth.
